Ash and Emily celebrated sharing their lives with a two day wedding highlighting the most important parts of themselves and sharing it with all of their loved ones. I absolutely loved this idea and was thrilled that they trusted me to document this moment for them!

Day one was a ceremony held at Goose Rocks Beach, Kennebunkport, ME - a place Ash spent all their summers growing up, so it's an incredibly special place for them. It was a chilly September evening and the ceremony was short and sweet. I loved the simplicity of their setup as it really helped to highlight the beach as the focal point and made the whole ceremony feel grounded and homey.

We started with formals down by the water as we wanted to make sure we did those first so that after the ceremony Ash and Emily could focus on celebrating with their loved ones (and because it was getting colder by the minute and we wanted to make sure no one was too uncomfortable during formals!) Afterwards, I spent some time one-on-one with the couple to get some portraits of just the two of them.

As the sun was starting to set, it was time for the ceremony to start. The golden light and early sunset made this ceremony all the more magical. Ash and Em did a unity sand ceremony, where they would take sand from each of their locations and mix them together to represent the joining of two individuals and the start of their lives together as one.

Day two was held at Camp Foss in Strafford, NH, which is just as special to Emily as Goose Rocks is to Ash. I loved the idea of having a day at camp for their reception - everyone wore comfy clothes and spent the day kayaking, axe throwing, zip lining, etc. They held a small, mini-ceremony later in the day where Emily added sand from the waterfront to top off their unity sand bottle. Once again, everything about this day was simple and grounded, placing emphasis on the sentimentality of the location and the importance of bringing everyone together and celebrating with their loved ones.
