Bhavika reached out to me over the summer to set up a family session for her one year old and her extended family, many of whom would be flying in from India to visit. Of course, I was STOKED for this session - there's no better way to celebrate extended family coming together again than to document it with family photos!
Kian is only a year old and he was not a big fan of the camera. But that's okay! The reality is that a majority of littles aren't jazzed about having their pictures taken and as a photographer who specializes in unposed, movement based, candid photos, this is absolutely not an issue! We spent the session playing with Kian and engaging him with different toys and songs and games and we got plenty of smiles! My favorite thing about family photos with littles is embracing the chaos and creating a fun, stress free environment for everyone because it always results in the most beautiful photos.
The Shahs have the most beautiful wooded backyard and the way that the golden hour sunlight was peeking through the trees was an absolute dream! This family was so sweet and it was such an honor to capture this moment for them.
